When it comes to dealing with bed bugs, there are numerous things you can do to ensure that these pests don't plague your home and your life. Fortunately, there are steps and things you can do to fight back against bed bugs and ensure that they are not ruling your life.

1. Figure Out Where They Are Hiding

The first thing you need to do is figure out where the bed bugs are hiding in your home. It will be easier to treat them and deal with them if you know where they are located. It will also be easier to treat them if they have not spread. A small infestation is easier to deal with than a large one.

Look for the bed bugs around the mattress and box spring and on the cracks around the bed. Look for them in electrical outlets and couch cushions. You can look for them on your own or let the exterminator take care of figuring out where they are hiding.

2. Contain Them

Once you know where the bed bugs are, you want to keep them from spreading. One of the best ways to do that is to vacuum them up. Just be sure to dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the canister far away from your home. You can suck them right up in your vacuum, but that will not necessarily kill them. Clean your vacuum well after you suck them up.

Take all of your clothing and put them in plastic bags. Then, one by one, wash the bags. Be sure to use the highest water and heat settings possible to ensure that the bugs are killed. Overall, it's important that you clean everything to get rid of the bugs.

3. Get Rid of Clutter

Next, you are going to want to get rid of the clutter in your home. Throw away anything that could be turned into a hiding place for the bugs. You don't want to give them anywhere to hide.

4. Get a Professional Treatment

Now it is time to bring in an exterminator for professional treatment. They will be able to use heat and chemicals to ensure that the bed bugs are really gone from your room or whatever room in the house they are located in. They will use things such as foggers, desiccants, and chemicals such as pyrroles, neonicotinoids, and pyrethroids.

If you have bed bugs, you are going to want to take care of them right away. Figure out where they are hiding, contain them, get rid of clutter, and get professional treatment to ensure they are gone.

About Me
Safe Pest Control Services

Welcome to my website. My name is Trina. I live in the country with my husband, our two children, two dogs, and three cats. I love country living with one exception... the pests! I am referring to wasps, stink bugs, and rodents. I don’t know why they don’t stay out in the woods, but they don’t. They seem to love our house. I was six months pregnant with our second child when we broke down and called a pest control service. The gentleman came out to talk to us, and I had many concerns. I was pregnant, we had a small child and our pets. The professional spent a great deal of time with us patiently explaining about the products they use in and around homes. I would like to share what we learned, and why we now have pest control service for our home.
